Biography
The origin of Division
Tlacuache comes from other bands and projects that each member,
although young has had experience with. And there's a lot of Carloses
in this story so beware.
Adrian the guitar player
invited Carlos Hartley to play in a band called Adrenalina, but
soon they grew unsatisfied and started to change the music. Then
Carlos Hartley invited Ian to play, who had met from another project
that Javier (ex Chencha Berrinches), Danny from Viva Malpache,
Carlos (the second bass player of Division Tlacuache), Gabriel
(drums) and Carlos Hartley started but never formalized. After
five drummers they called up Gabriel and the Division was formed.
Alfonso came to play sax, Antuan bass, and Carlos Jimenez on trombone.
The name comes from
two ideas. Ian, the trombone player wanted to name the band Los
Tlacuaches, but Carlos the lead singer wanted Division del Norte,
which is a subway station in Mexico City. A friend of Carlos had
suggested the name (the same friend that suggested La Resistencia's
name by the way). So they decided to unite the names and it became
Division Tlacuache.
